Well, Nainital is known as lake city or you can say the city of lakes. Particularly in the city Nainital there is one lake but as a district, Nainital has various lakes on the mountains.

We'll know about approx everything about Nainital especially if you're going to visit the Same city.

So we'll go one by one.
  1. History/Location

  3. To-Do list In Nainital
  4. Preferred Items.

1.History Of Nainital:

Well, Nainital is a small and beautiful place in the hills 1,940–2,100 m (6,360–6,890 ft) in the Uttarakhand state of India. The highest point in Nainital is Naina Peak or China Peak, with an elevation of 2,619 m (8,593 ft). It was discovered or created when the first European house (Pilgrim Lodge) by P. Barron was constructed. Nainital was part of British India after the Anglo-Nepalese war in 1814-16. In his memoir, he wrote: "It is by far the best site I have witnessed in the course of a 1,500 miles (2,400 km) trek in the Himalayas."
In Sept 1880 a landslide happened at the north end of the town burying 151 people due to heavy rain. The first landslide was recorded in 1866 due to the same reason.

After that peoples used to come here and stayed. Since Nainital became more and more popular across the area. In the latter half of the 19th century, a number of "European" schools for boys and girls were founded in Nainital.
It is also believed that the Naini Lake is one of the 64 Shakti Peeths or religious sites where parts of the charred body of Sati (Parvati) fell on earth while being carried by Lord Shiva. The spot where Sati's eyes (or Nain) fell, came to be called Nain-tal or lake of the eye. The goddess Shakti is worshipped at the Naina Devi Temple, known by locals as Naini Mata Temple on the north shore of the present day lake.

10. Visit Sariyatal Water Falls: I personally highly recommend it. It's a very unique and wonderful experience every time for me. It's a little bit far (~10 Km) from Nainital. You can find the public transport from Kaladungi stop if you wanna come here. but mind that while coming back maybe you'll not find any transport as it's lesser transport available in this area. I and my friends came the whole 10km by foot cause of the same reason but It was the remarkable experience for us. Don't worry about safety. You'll not find any danger/harmful person in here although I recommend going with a couple of friends.

Note: Bathing isn't allowed here.😜😜
